The Drayton Valley Max Center is a special events facility that provides ONE-STOP planning for a variety of special events.
We provide in-house, fully catered, Weddings & Receptions, Company Christmas Events, Private Celebrations, Dinner Theatres, Community Fundraisers & Corporate Functions.
Our Special Events Facility features:
- Industry-leading kitchen facility
- Buffet-style menus, prepared to your specifications – In-house catering provided by Another Bite Catering or Cobblestone Café Catering
- 1,200 ² foot dance floor/stage
- State-of-the-art audio, visual and video system
- Wireless microphones
- Computer-driven projection system able to display anything from DVD movies to Computer presentations
- Full-stage with theatre-style curtains
- Portable raised stage
- In-house DJ services
- In-house light and sound production support
- 3 levels of tiered seating on the main floor along with a mezzanine level featuring round tables for dinner and cabaret seating
- Ample paved parking with Handicap access

Our vision is to become Drayton Valley’s leading Special Events Venue for the community, performing arts and entertainment that serves both residents and visitors of Drayton Valley and the surrounding areas as well as the student body and administration of Frank Maddock High School.

The Max Center History
Founded in 1997, The Max Center for Performing Arts Society (The Max Center) is a not-for-profit, charitable corporation in the community of Drayton Valley, Alberta.
Started by a dedicated group of community leaders, The Max Center was built to support both the student body of Frank Maddock High School and the community of Drayton Valley. Back in 1997, The Max Center was formed to:
- Manage the Max Center for the benefit of Frank Maddock High School and the larger community
- Enhance student services
- Make an on-going financial contribution to student services
- Contribute funds to the Board in recognition of its support in constructing the The Max Center.
As a non-profit society, The Max Center is operated by a Board of Directors comprised of community leaders with a common vision to provide residents and visitors of Drayton Valley, as well as the student body of Frank Maddock High School with a world-class Special Events facility for both enjoyment and education.

The Max Center Special Events Facility is operated with a dual purpose:
- To be Drayton Valley’s leading special events venue for Community, Performing Arts & Entertainment
- To serve as a gathering place for the students & administration of Frank Maddock High School.
